The Town of Chatham is located in the northwest corner of Columbia County, NY, and includes part of the Village of Chatham. We are an active committee dedicated to supporting good commonsense governing and true democratic principles.
Monthly Meetings:
7:00 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month, 11 Kinderhook Street,
Chatham. We would love to see you at our next meeting!
It's July and the Dems are having a picnic!!!!
Sunday, July 11. It will be at the main pavilion of Crellin Park. and will begin at 1:00 ( set up at 12:00).
So that we can get the fall campaign on the fast track we will be holding the annual Democratic Caucus at 11:30 a.m. before the set up of the picnic. For those of you wondering what a caucus is, this is an annual event of our local Democratic Party where we legally nominate our candidates for local offices.
For those of you worried about attending both the picnic and the annual Paul Grunberg Bach Celebration at PS21 why not do both?! Come early for the picnic then skip on over to PS21 for the concert! Politics and Bach! What a combo!
Check out the Events page to download a nifty ‘save the date’ picnic card.

The Columbia Paper editorial on Chatham’s Comp
Plan Implementation Committee
Hello Friends,
I am going to strongly suggest you subscribe to The Columbia Paper as the reporting is excellent and the articles are interesting and just plain good. But they make their money by subscriptions so when I supply you with a link to one of their articles, etc. I hope I'm whetting your appetite and you want to support
this new venture.
Here is Editor Perry Teasdale's editorial regarding the Implementation Committee
for the Comprehensive Plan. He hits the nail right on the head.

Also Rebecca Winn, reporter for the Columbia Paper, did an article on the last
Town Board meeting but I could not find it on the website. So go buy the paper! It's refreshing to have a reporter actually call you up to verify a quote or
a paraphrase. Rebecca has now done that on two occasions with me. Imagine
that, journalism with integrity!

What do we stand for?
Chatham Dems respond - here's what you all had to say.
The Village has its own blog:
http://chathamvillage.wordpress.com/
This blog is about education. About Village resident and property owner
education on how our Village is governed, how the tax structure operates,
and how we can find our voice as individuals and as a group.
This is about developing community within this wonderful Village of Chatham, and about improving the quality of life on our streets, sidewalks and in our homes.
